Kentucky Derby graded stakes earnings

.

The $2-million Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (G1) is scheduled for May 2 at Churchill Downs.

The race is restricted to 20 starters with preference given to horses with the highest earnings in graded stakes races. There is one exception to that preference: Mafaaz, the winner of a Churchill Downs-sponsored race on March 18 at Kempton Park in England, will be guaranteed a spot in the starting gate for the 135th Kentucky Derby, if his owner decides to ship him to Churchill for the race.
